After signing Mathys Tel, Bayern are now going full throttle with Konrad Laimer. The poker transfer with RB Leipzig is in full swing. According to current media reports, everyone involved is confident that the deal will be completed within the next few days.

There are growing signs that Bayern will also have a chance at Konrad Laimer this summer. Munich have already agreed a switch with the Austrian. The deal with RB Leipzig is still pending. As ‘Sky’ journalist Florian Plettenberg reports, the two clubs could strike the perfect deal during the week: “The transfer should still work out. We hear from all sides that this deal may well be finalized this week, maybe before the DFL Supercup,” he told Transfer Update the Show on Monday night.

Will Bayern further improve its offer?

According to reports, Bayern and Leipzig are seven million euros apart when it comes to transfer fees. While Munich recently offered 23 million euros including bonus payments, the Saxons are demanding 30 million euros.

But it’s also clear: RB doesn’t want to lose the player for free. However, this is exactly the scenario that threatens if no agreement is reached with Bayern. Reason: Laimer is only contractually tied to Leipzig until 2023 and only wants to move to the German record champions.

Moreover, Leipzig could well use the transfer income as they are currently working on a comeback campaign for Timo Werner. The Germany international is unhappy with his role at Chelsea and is flirting with a return to the cup winners.
