Lewandowski’s unlucky debut

Goalless start for Robert Lewandowski (33) in the Spanish La Liga!

Lewandowski had always scored at the start of the season for Bayern in seven years, but the new Barcelona striker failed to score in the 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Lewandowski had moved from Bayern to FC Barcelona after weeks of blunders. In the end, Barça paid the required 45 million! But it wasn’t until Friday that the Catalans received the striker’s playing approval. Now, he was enthusiastically celebrated by Barça supporters as soon as he arrived at the stadium in the green Bentley.

► Lewandowski’s first excitement in the 13th minute: The striker passes the ball over goalkeeper Dimitrievski in the net, but the goal does not count due to offside.

Then Raphinha, Dembélé and Pedri ruin their chances. Shortly before the break, Ter Stegen even saved Barça from a delay against Alvaro.

► 53 mins: Nearly Lewy’s first goal, but Dimitrievski catches it before he can swing the ball over the line.

► 82nd minute: Nothing! Lewandowski’s shot from 16 yards rushes just wide of the box. It remains 0-0 until the final whistle.

After all: Last season Rayo won both games against the favorites, now Barcelona take a point. But the draw remains a huge disappointment at the start…
