Report: Manchester United target Serge Gnabry

Even though Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has recently pointed out that Serge Gnabry’s expiring contract should be extended, it’s still totally open whether the Munich side will achieve this goal. If there is no extension this summer, a farewell to the DFB star cannot be ruled out. According to English media, Manchester United are dealing with the 26-year-old.

Serge Gnabry has been linked with many big clubs in recent weeks. Real Madrid in particular would have a concrete interest. However, Los Blancos are speculating on a free transfer deal in the summer of 2023.

The winger is also very popular in England. As well as Arsenal and Liverpool, another EPL club, Manchester United, appear to be throwing feelers at Gnabry.

United deals with Gnabry

As ‘Manchester Evening News’ reports, Gnabry is on the Red Devils’ wishlist. However, the 26-year-old is currently only Plan B at Manchester. United are working hard to sign Ajax winger Antony. However, the talks with the Dutch are progressing very slowly. Only if the deal with Ajax were to burst would you try Gnabry.

The German national player has recently been very taciturn about Bayern’s future. Reportedly, the striker only wants to deal with it more intensively after his summer vacation. According to sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, talks with Gnabry will soon be deepened again. Rumor has it that there has been silence between the club and the player ever since Gnabry rejected a contract offer from Munich worth €17-19m.

Gnabry is ready to return to the island

Salihamidzic told ‘Sky’ last week that another attempt would be made. However, if that doesn’t work, the 45-year-old said a fair solution must be found for everyone involved. In plain language, this means: Bayern want to sell Gnabry this summer, as it would be the last opportunity to generate a fee. Moreover, FCB have already signed a ‘replacement’ for Gnabry in Sadio Mané.

As BILD report, Gnabry is fully open to returning to England. The winger was previously trained at Arsenal FC. However, he did not break through as a professional on the island.
