The fact that FC Bayern will open the 2022/23 Bundesliga season at Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday August 5 was already determined when the fixtures were published. The DFL made all other specific appointments on time for the first seven matchdays on Friday.
Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen will play the first Saturday night game of the new season on August 6 (6:30 p.m.). Union Berlin host Hertha BSC in the derby three hours early.
On Sunday only, VfB Stuttgart against RB Leipzig (3.30 p.m.) and 1. FC Köln against FC Schalke 04 (5.30 p.m.). The promoted team can also play the showpiece match on Saturday evening against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 2.
As participants in the Europa Conference League, 1. FC Köln are challenged five times on Sundays in the first seven matchdays.
The duel between Leipzig and Dortmund on Matchday 6 takes place on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m.), as does the district derby between BVB and Schalke a week later.
