“Der Bergdoktor” is entering its 16th season. But a viewer from ZDF listened carefully at first – and noticed a mistake from the scriptwriters.

Ellmau – In “Der Bergdoktor” it’s about Dr. Martin Gruber (Hans Sigl) at the start of season 16 moving on. But in the drama that keeps the Gruber family in suspense, there was a mistake at the start of the series that most ZDF viewers probably didn’t notice initially.

“Der Bergdoktor” with Hans Sigl begins in the 16th season – the beginning of the series is dramatic

At the start of the new season “Der Bergdoktor”, Dr. Martin Gruber does not allow himself any respite: After a short break, the title hero returns to his home in Tyrol, where family tensions and a lot of work await him. After several strokes, his patient, 65-year-old sheep farmer Alois Bachmeier, appears to be suffering from Binswanger encephalopathy. The result: dementia.

At the start of the season, an error slipped into “Der Bergdoktor”. In the series, there is sudden talk of the district court – a body that exists in Germany but not in Austria, as an attentive ZDF viewer notes on Twitter © Screenshot/Twitter

A world crumbles for his granddaughter Josefine; his daughter Karin reacts relatively cool. She broke up with her abusive father years ago. The farmer is no longer able to take care of himself due to his condition and needs a guardian. Karin asks mountain doctor Martin Gruber and his colleague Dr. Alexander Kahnweiler (Mark Keller) to therefore submit their diagnosis to the district court – a scene in which the scriptwriters probably did not take the background information very seriously.

The review of the “Bergdoktor” – specialist journal for doctors reviews the ZDF series:

“Der Bergdoktor” may be well received by its viewers, but the series has already been criticized from a professional point of view. The Deutsches Ärzteblatt characterized protagonist Dr. Martin Gruber as an uncooperative know-it-all whose daily life in the series has little to do with the current medical profession. The ZDF series is full of clichés and conveys “the classic image of the doctors from the old Heimat films”.

ZDF viewers noticed errors at the beginning of “Der Bergdoktor” – “Does not exist in Austria”

What German fans in particular shouldn’t have noticed bothered one ZDF viewer so much that he took to Twitter: “When the Bergdoktor speaks of the district court, although there is nothing like this in Austria”, specifies the user. The district courts would be competent for a corresponding case in the Alpine Republic.

However, other viewers took the small error with humor, especially since the series alpine doctor here and there is noticeable with not particularly drastic inconsistencies. One user commented: “No Tyrolean speaks as high German as all German actors play Austrians.” Bergdoktor “love drama. Sources used: “Der Bergdoktor” (ZDF; Season 16, Episode 1), twitter.com
