- Radicle has undergone a major upgrade to change its inherent code infrastructure.
- The upgrade will position the RAD token in a positive light for impressive upsides.
Last week, the digital currency ecosystem exhibited many definite rises as the hype in memecoins pushed bullish sentiment to a whole new high. While memecoins like PEPE and FLOKI have been the focus of the week, an under-the-radar altcoin Radicle (RAD) is also seeing very promising growth following a major upgrade announcement.
Radicle is presented as an open-source protocol allowing developers to collaborate in a peer-to-peer and decentralized way. With many blockchain protocols around today, Radicle is in a position that can make collaborative working a reality. The entire blockchain ecosystem is constantly evolving and the platform offered by Radicle is essential in helping to tap into the global knowledge base of the various innovators in the industry.
With Radicle serving as the GitHub and GitLab of the decentralized world, it has seen its membership grow by a mile over the years. The last update was first hinted in mid-April and Protocol noted that the move was to help chart a new era for its entire ecosystem.
A new era begins for Radicle. 👾
Over the past year, we've been hard at work on a new iteration of the Radicle protocol for code collaboration called "Heartwood".

Radicle dubbed the upgrade Heartwood and it is designed to give a new iteration of the Radicle protocol for code collaboration.
“Heartwood addresses the usability and performance issues we faced in previous iterations of the protocol, while doubling down on the secure and resilient primitives of Radicle,” detailed Radicle announced in April, adding that the complete protocol overhaul will provide compatibility enhanced with Decentralized Identifiers (DID).
The Heartwood Protocol has been in the making for a considerable amount of time and it has been battle tested with the community of developers who have embraced its services. In the latest shared update, Radicle said that issues and PR are now closed on its GitHub repository, as Heartwood development is now fully moved to Radicle.
Radicle and the benefit for investors
Radicle is experiencing a very impressive price surge, building on the broader positive sentiment in the industry since the start of the year. Although the digital currency is changing hands at a price of $3.3886, down 25% in the last 24 hoursit notably pushes a more bullish perspective with its increase of more than 120% that it has printed since the beginning of the year.

Notably, the new upgrade is intended to make Radicle a more functional protocol. This, in turn, will make the protocol more attractive to developers, which can promote intense accumulation of the RAD token. One thing is obvious, Radicle as an advanced protocol offers investors a very good opportunity as the growth potential is high.
With Web3.0 innovations gradually replacing their Web2.0 counterparts, it is likely that Radicle, via Heartwood's upgrade, will replace GitHub's popularity among Web3 developers in the near future. If that happens, the early proponents of the protocol will be among the biggest beneficiaries in the near future.
