Sadio Mane picked his shirt number at FC Bayern and picked a number that wasn’t assigned last season.
Sadio Mane will wear Bayern Munich’s number 17 shirt next season. This was announced by the German record champions on Sunday. Mane was introduced a few days ago as a new signing for Liverpool FC.
“I want to celebrate a lot of success with my team and this number,” Mane told the Munich website.
Boateng, van Bommel, Ziege and Fink also wore 17
Jérôme Boateng, who moved to Lyon last summer, wore the 17 at FC Bayern. No Bayern player chose this number last season. Well-known former Munich players with 17 are Mark van Bommel, Christian Ziege and Thorsten Fink.
